STEAM JACKETED EQUIPMENT
A.H. Lundberg, Inc. offers steam jacketed equipment which is primarily used in the molten
sulfur application, but can be used in any process which requires steam jacketing.
Piping:
Steam jacketed piping is fabricated from standard fittings to provide an internal pipe for
the molten sulfur (or other material) and external jacket for the steam. Assembled with
standard 150 lb flanges, the piping system is provided with steam and condensate
jumpers properly arranged to prevent cold pockets.
Jacketed Valves:
Control Valve: A steam jacketed control valve is provided for molten sulfur service. This
valve is manufactured for installation in a steam jacketed tee. When installed to
specification, potential plugging of the control port is cleared by sulfur flow.
Steam jacketed shut-off or isolation valves are a requirement for jacketed piping systems.
Lundberg has developed the techniques necessary to jacket a commercial ball valve.
For installation ahead of the Lundberg sulfur nozzle, a specially designed steam heated
one-half inch valve is manufactured. This is a ball valve with a manufactured block
housing that incorporates steam passages for heating.
Molten Sulfur Strainer:
For molten sulfur service, a molten sulfur strainer with a steam jacket is provided. This
strainer has a removable and replaceable strainer basket which removes contamination
from molten sulfur. Contaminates frequently found in sulfur are tank scale, pebbles., etc.
