DIGESTER LIQUOR HEATERS

Digester Liquor Heaters are installed with both batch and continuous digesters. The
theory of digester liquor heaters is to provide a positive flow of liquor throughout the
digester and to assure equal distribution of heat to all of the chips.

The Lundberg Digester Liquor Heaters are indirect (tube and shell) heat exchangers. The
tubes and channels are normally T-304L stainless steel, while the shell is carbon steel.

The liquor flows inside of the tubes and the steam is on the shell side.

The Lundberg heater is designed with maintenance in mind. The heads may be
removed, without removal of any piping, for ease of inspection and cleaning. The shell
side incorporates an expansion joint for longevity of both the tubes and the shell.
