CHLORINE DISPERSER

The Chlorine Disperser, for pulp mill service, is utilized to disperse chlorine gas as very
small bubbles in water prior to mixing with pulp. Since chlorine is only slightly soluble in
water, proper dispersion is a necessary prerequisite to efficient pulp-chlorine mixing. The
smaller the chlorine bubbles created, the greater will be the surface area which promotes
more rapid and efficient chlorination.

Chlorine gas dispersion is influenced by chlorine flow, water flow and water pressure.
Detailed design considerations are therefore required for each installation.

The wetted parts of the Chlorine Disperser are constructed of corrosion resistant PVDF
(polyvinylidene fluoride). Nozzle and throat inserts for a lined tee are custom machined
for desired service conditions.
